Charities and the not for profit sector

We act for a number of clients in this growing sector. Many local authorities are being encouraged to deal with businesses in the private sector and we have found that in many cases the commercial acumen we have built up in our dealings with the private sector has meant that we really have been able to add value in our dealings with clients in this sector.

Charities operate under a range of increasingly demanding statutes namely the Companies Act, the Charities Act and the Statements of Recommended Practice. There are also issues of income generation, cost control, corporate governance and also many staff and taxation issues.
