Gary White

Gary is the marketing partner of CBC and joined the firm in 2000, having previously run his own practice for 9 years after qualifying as a chartered certified accountant in industry. Gary runs a growing portfolio of clients and is also involved in bringing new clients into CBC and developing new services for clients.

Gary spent 12 years in industry and commerce as a senior management accountant before going into practice. This experience has stood him in good stead in working closely with clients in recent years. Gary has helped them develop financial management and reporting systems - gaining better control over their business and helping them build profitability. In recent years Gary has been involved in the strategic development of the firm and is keen to expand the firm’s brand across the region.

Ian Harris

Ian is the firm's managing partner having qualified as a chartered accountant in 1984. Ian has been with the firm since 2000 and heads up the corporate services department, managing a substantial client portfolio which mainly comprises larger family owned companies and businesses and looks after all their accounting, audit and taxation needs, supported by a very strong and well qualified team.

Ian has been in practice for his entire career and was previously with ‘Big Four’ firm Deloitte Touche where he gained valuable audit and accounting experience in the large company sector. Ian’s key strengths are his ability to quickly analyse and solve financial problems and also with corporate finance deals where he has been closely involved in helping clients raise funds for expansion as well as being involved in a number of mergers and acquisitions in recent years.

Gill Awcock

Gill joined CBC as a partner soon after its formation in the mid 1990s and has worked hard to build up her portfolio during that time. Gill looks after a large range of clients in the business development sector and is used to running the accounts of a large number of clients to exacting time schedules, ensuring all deadlines are met.

Gill’s team produce the accounts for sole traders and partnerships as well as a large number of companies that do not require audit, and also undertakes all necessary tax compliance work, ensuring that filing deadlines are met and tax liabilities are kept to a minimum. Gill’s clients range across most sectors, from construction to retail, services and start ups, as well as mature family-owned businesses.

Gill is also responsible for training within CBC as well as maintaining CBC’s ACCA Platinum status

Jeremy Boyden

Jeremy qualified as a chartered accountant in the 1994 with a local firm and joined CBC in 1997, becoming a partner in 1999. Jeremy’s specialist area is accounting and audits for larger, more complex clients and those with group structures.

Jeremy’s portfolio of clients range from large property groups to smaller construction companies, as well as a wide range of service business across a number of sectors. It is this wide range of clients which have really honed Jeremy’s accounting skills in recent years and his clients rely on him for so many aspects of their financial affairs. Jeremy works closely with Ian Harris and Gary White in managing and developing a growing portfolio within the corporate services section of CBC.

Mark Turner

Mark is a tax partner at CBC and provides specialist tax advice in areas such as Corporation Tax, Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, PAYE and NIC. Mark liaises closely with HM Revenue & Customs and is also responsible for handling enquiries and investigations. Before joining the firm in 2003 Mark spent over 25 years with the Inland Revenue, and managed a team of inspectors specialising in investigation work.

 

Mark runs our tax department together with Anthony Burrell and they are responsible for processing all corporate and personal self assessment tax returns. Mark provides advice on tax saving schemes to help minimise the tax liabilities of our clients. .

 

 

Anthony Burrell

Anthony works closely with Mark to run the tax department for the firm and helps to ensure all changes in tax legislation are quickly communicated to clients and actioned accordingly. Anthony qualified as a chartered certified accountant in 2004 and soon helped establish the tax department which has seen a big growth in its client numbers and turnover in recent years.

Anthony joined CBC in 2001 after spending a number of years as a tax specialist with a large city based firm of accountants and is keen to expand further the range of tax saving services his department has to offer.

Peter Sartain

Peter joined CBC in 2004 and was appointed as a partner in 2008, the newest addition to the partnership team. Peter works closely with Jeremy Boyden in the corporate services section of CBC and has an impressive track record with clients in his portfolio.

Peter also looks after the practice assurance and professional compliance role within CBC which is a continuing process geared at ensuring that a high level of professional care and standards are rigorously applied to all aspects of work within the firm; not just those relating to audit work. Practice Assurance standards are set by our professional association and regulatory body, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and these are monitored on a regular basis to ensure they are being adhered to.
